ডব্লিউটিও-তে নেদারল্যান্ডের রাষ্ট্রদূত এবং এফবিসিসিআই নেতৃবৃন্দের মধ্যে আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত

ডব্লিউটিও-তে নেদারল্যান্ডের রাষ্ট্রদূত, মিজ মনিক ভ্যান দালেন এবং এফবিসিসিআই নেতৃবৃন্দের মধ্যে এক সভা আজ (৬-৫-২০১৯) এফবিসিসিআই কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় ডব্লিওটিও (বিশ্ব বাণিজ্য সংস্থা) থেকে ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য সম্পর্কিত প্রয়োজনীয় তথ্য ও রিসোর্স প্রাপ্তির লক্ষ্যে এফবিসিসিআই ডব্লিউটিও’র সাথে আরও নিবিড় যোগাযোগের আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছে। রাষ্ট্রদূতও পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা এবং সুবিধাদি প্রাপ্তির লক্ষ্যে এফবিসিসিআইকে ‘ডব্লিউটিও পাবলিক ফোরাম’ এবং ‘ডব্লিউটিও ডাটা সেন্টার’-এর সাথে সম্পৃক্ততা বৃদ্ধির পরামর্শ দেন। এফবিসিসিআই সভাপতি মোঃ শফিউল ইসলাম মহিউদ্দিন, সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি শেখ ফজলে ফাহিম এবং সহ-সভাপতি মো: মুনতাকিম আশরাফ সভায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
বৈঠককালে এফবিসিসিআই সভাপতি বাংলাদেশের দ্রুত অগ্রসরমান অর্থনৈতিক কার্যক্রমে দেশের বেসরকারি খাতের ভূমিকা তুলে ধরেন। দেশে বিনিয়োগের পরিবেশ আরও আকর্ষণীয় করতে এফবিসিসিআই তার সদস্য সংস্থাগুলোকে সাথে নিয়ে সরকারের সাথে নিবিড়ভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে বলে তিনি উল্লেখ করেন। রানা প্লাজা দূর্ঘটনার পর দেশের তৈরি পোশাক কারখানাগুলোতে নিরাপত্তা ক্ষেত্রে তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ উন্নতি হয়েছে বলে মহিউদ্দিন জানান। তিনি রাষ্ট্রদূতকে তাঁর বাংলাদেশ সফরের ইতিবাচক অভিজ্ঞতাগুলো ডব্লিউটিও-তে শেয়ার করার জন্য অনুরোধ জানান।
রাষ্ট্রদূত, মিজ মনিক ভ্যান দালেন বাংলাদেশের সাস্প্রতিক আর্থ-সামাজিক উন্নয়নের বিষয়ে গভীর সন্তোষ প্রকাশ করেন। বাংলাদেশে তাঁর এ সফর ডব্লিউটিওতে তাঁর কার্যক্রম পরিচালনায় বিশেষ সহায়ক হবে বলে তিনি উল্লেখ করেন।
এফবিসিসিআই সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি শেখ ফজলে ফাহিম সভায় তাঁর ডব্লিউটিও মিনিস্টেরিয়ালে অংশগ্রহণের অভিজ্ঞতা জানান। ডব্লিউটিওর সাথে সম্পৃক্ততা আরও কিভাবে বাড়ানো যায় সে বিষয়ে তিনি রাষ্ট্রদূতের সহায়তা কামনা করেন।

Meeting between Netherlands Permanent Representative and FBCCI Leaders held

FBCCI expressed interest to get more engagement with the World Trade Organization (WTO) for necessary trade information and resources. The WTO Representative also advised Bangladesh Private sector leaders to get engaged with ‘WTO Public Forum’ and the ‘WTO Data Center’ for mutual cooperation and benefit. The discussion was held at a meeting between Ms. Monique Van Daalen, WTO-LDC Sub-Committee Chairman and Netherlands Permanent Representative & Ambassador in Geneva and the FBCCI leaders at FBCCI today (6-5-2019). FBCCI President Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, Senior Vice President Sheikh F Fahim and Vice President Mr. Md. Muntakim Ashraf took part in the discussion.

The FBCCI President, at the meeting mentioned about the role of private sector in the fast-growing development activities of the country. FBCCI along with its member bodies working with the Government to ensure a conducive business environment in the country, he added. He also said that, after the Rana Plaza incident Bangladesh has done a great job with significant improvement regarding the safety issues. The FBCCI Chief requested the Ambassador to deliver her positive experience to WTO about the visit to Bangladesh.

Ms. Monique Van Daalen expressed her great satisfaction over Bangladesh’s success in different socio-economic sectors. The experience she earned from this visit will be useful in the WTO Committee functions, she added.

Sheikh F Fahim, Senior Vice President of FBCCI, at the meeting mentioned his experience of attending the WTO Ministerial. Mr. F Fahim asked the Ambassador about the procedure of getting more engagement of FBCCI to WTO activities.
